Blooogy (don't know whether we're supposed to do a comment of update)

Um, don't get scared or anything but, my camera's charger had definitely disappeared D:

which means no super cool pictures for you to feast your eyes on :P

I finally did complete my last two concentrations though!(woo)
impressed? I'm know. But I'm actually really proud of how they look now (all finished and sparkley). ALSO: the showcase was a bomb! I had a lot of fun and was really glad to see everyone else's work, which I hope you had the time to do aside from standing next to and boasting about your art! If I had to sum up the showcase in three words it would look something like this:

  1. jelly-rific
  2. gotta see Ms. McB cry (kinda....though it was a bit suspicious)
  3. recognition/scholarships to those that deserve it! Congrats yo!
ah, yes. The delicious taste of not getting a scholarship (aka free money wut!) for myself xD HA. but I forgive those that received them and cranked out killer art.

I hope we can all keep our sanity for the rest of the school year and with these new flower pieces. It'll be interesting to see how our class interprets their flowers and portrays them......in other words: I WANNA SEE BIG FAT FLOWERS ON A CANVAS :-)

Long Time No See!

Boy has it been quite some time since I've updated this dusty thing. Sorry to all who've been anxious and waiting at the edge of their seats all day XD

Unfortunately, my camera is dead and I'm trying to find the charger...so, no updates on my (super awesome) concentrations. I'm kinda in turbo mode since I just realized that I have four pieces to crank out in less than two weeks...nice.
I'll be super sure to give you guys the scoop once my camera is up and running.

So far I've messed around with about five ideas and just chucked them. Who knew chairs would get challenging? Maybe you guys have noticed me up in the loft making noise and fiddling with a book...well, if you have, congratulations! ding ding...ding.
I've spent sometime with a new idea elaborating off of my 'book project'. I'm thinking around the lines of a book with many cut out compartments that represent rooms and have lots of characters inside.
interesting? huh?huh? well hopefully it'll look cool and win some brownie points with the McB, ha, if I get it done on time.

And, as a parting gift:

man I've missed posting these :D

BLOGGY BLOG BLOG BLOOGY

So I haven't done a blog in a while because I keep forgetting (yeah, I noticed you were bummed out not to comment on mine for a while).
Here are a few artists that try maybe a little harder than me in my chair creations:

Concentration

Secretly there's only one heh heh

there are three kids on toilet seats. Supposed to represent the three stages of kiddy pooing (ha kinda): sitting, pooing, then looking at your poo. It's supposed to be funny

My concentration is chairs: how they represent people for who they are, body language, the lack of a chair, and the different types of chairs that pertain to different people. In this case, the "potty" chair is addressed.

Wowzas!

I just stumbled on these photos when looking up "human ice-cream cone"....dunno why, BUT that's not what this post is about now is it?...I looked up the artist and his name is Tetsuya Ishida. Crazy inspirational work that makes me wanna shoot myself for not coming up with this kinda stuff. It reminds me of the graphic concentration with all the faces having  the censored black line over their eyes/Katamari Damacy (XD ha).
I'm really excited about this because I never find artists that make stuff that speaks to me. The message, media, and style are workin' in his work and I R a happy camper

You can see more of his work here. (yeah, cool link-age goin' on)

Words of Wisdom

wow, so I just checked and my video I uploaded last week didn't show up. >:P oh well. i shall try to post it yet again, but for now listen to a few words of wisdom:

-Don't get stressed: Try to manage projects a little each day, before you go to bed, or even set up a schedule for which days you feel might be less stressful or packed with homework

-Have confidence: Don't think that on your first try you'll get a perfect work of art. If you fail miserably, move on to something else (it helps a lot) and think of it as more practice and a mistake you won' t do again. DO NOT under any circumstances compare your art with others'! You have your own style and ways of completing projects. -_- if you even think about doing this I will shoot you in the face -yes it is that bad-

-Be imaginative (you're in AP Art damn it!): If you can't think of any cool, innovative ideas for a project, surf online, read books or magazines, play Call of Duty, dance, pick your nose. Odds are that something will speak to you. Try not to focus too much on the aspects of art itself, rather just things you are interested in. It's hard to make a project based on a subject you aren't interested in. After you realize a concept or idea, circumlocute and connect it to other subjects-this helps to broaden your concepts and successfully get your point across.THEN, you can start tackling ways of presenting it in the form of art. Don't waste time and resources on something crappy that neither you, Mrs.McB, nor your grandma would want to hang above their toilet.

-Have fun: Art is supposed to be fun, personal, and satisfying (regardless what Mrs.McB has brainwashed you into thinking!)No it's not going to take over your life and prevent you from picking up chicks and watching Gossip Girl (dur) on your weekends. If you're sick of concentrating on just Art, do something else. Nothing good will come out of a person with a paintbrush and a dark twinkle in their eye (unless you're the emo type that only makes art by being depressed all the time and slathering a black hole in the middle of your paper.)

So don't get stressed, be confident and imaginative, and have fun.

Half the time I don't even follow these 'words of wisdom', but it'll get you somewhere in 'dire times of need'. You don't have to follow any of them, I'm actually surprised you read this much without puking. Hope my ranting would be useful someday because naturally I wrote this as a Blog Update

W.O.A.W.I.P.

Work of Art Work in Progress!

Pretty creepy, but successful? This picture doesn't show that the bigger one has been gesso-ed. I did gesso it yesterday, but forgot to pick it up after school, but! it is pretty cool looking.

Initially I tried to gesso the smaller one because I screwed up and was pretty pissed off at looking at it, but apparently! GESSO DOESN'T COVER SHARPIE MARKER -_-

grahh...but people have been giving me mixed responses, so I decided to keep it as-is. The bigger one is pretty darn sloppy looking but keep in mind it isn't gesso-ed over. I wanted get the same effect as the first (yes, when I see a short cut to something by being lazy...Lorenzo is there). So tell me what you think? yes?

ah, yes. I'm going to make a smaller one, so there are three in ascending size.

ah, yes yes. They are a Work in Progress, so no judging you fool!

ah, yes yes yes. The smaller one looks funky chicken since the lighting is kinda shitty

Let me tell you a lil' somethin

o: book projects! I was really fascinated about all the work people did. Congrats top five and top 32!( and Andrew Haymann for being a loser).

I definitely need to step up my game since I kinda sorta maybe didn't do shit this summer....I bought a new watercolor set, so there's a start. I'm thinking that this year will be pretty hectic with senior "important stuff I don't know about"...durr, college.....ahhh, art.....urgggg, and miscellaneous stress-related factors...guhhh. But! Si Se Puede!

Art folks! Glad to be in this class. XD and yes, there's competition out there.

well,

gotta go and make myself a sandwich
